There will be no Saturday Conditioning or Lessons for the remainder of October. Conditioning and Lessons will resume on November 4th.


The Alaska State Championships for Fencing will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday, October 28th, and Sunday, October 29th. Preregistration is now open. Competitive memberships are required. There will be a $30 registration fee and a $10 event fee for every event you sign up for. 

The Sabre Tournament will take place in the PNA Gymnasium and will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, 10-28; the Foil Tournament will take place in the PNA Gymnasium and will begin at 11:30 AM on Saturday, 10-28; the Epee Tournament will take place in the Fairview Rec Center and begin at 9:30 AM on Sunday, 10-29.

Fencers must sign and bring this waiver in order to compete.

This is the largest fencing event in Alaska and all fencers and their friends and family — are welcome to attend.


The next installment of AFC's ongoing Golden Foil Series will be on November 18th. There will be two pool tournaments back to back: the first will begin at 9:00 AM, the second beginning at 10:00 A.M. The winner of each will receive a golden foil practice tip, the third of four pieces needed to complete the golden foil. 

There is a $15 fee to participate in both pool tournaments. This is not a USA Fencing sanctioned event, so you will not need a competitive membership to participate. Fencers should arrive early in order to complete registration by 8:45, and should be ready to fence at 9:00.

AFC will be hosting a Beginner's Foil Tournament on December 23rd, following the conclusion of an intermediate class. This tournament is open to all foil fencers with less than a year of experience in fencing. More info will be added as it is made available.

As of August 1st, 2017, the price of memberships has been changed to $45 per month, or $450 for an annual membership.
